Position: BI Cognos Administrator

Job Description:

Commercial Business Group, a division of the Citigroup Global Consumer Group, is the largest financial institution providing leasing and other commercial financing products. This position is with the Business Intelligence team to support the rollout of a new Cognos reporting and cube environment. Job requires advanced ReportNet and PowerPlay skills (including Framework Manager, CognosConnection, ReportStudio, Transformer and Enterprise Server) and project management SDLC skills.



Primary Job Function:

o Design, develop and manage reporting solution to meet the business needs.
o Assist BI technology resources.
o Perform project management tasks and follow SDLC
o Design, build and maintain the BI information management environment
o Collaborate with business users to implement BI solution.
o Design and develop enterprise-wide Framework Manager models.
o Develop the CognosConnection upfront Portal that enables report and cube access.
o Develop standards and techniques to support advanced drill down capabilities.
o Implement and maintain Access Manager security environment that supports multiple user classes and views.
o Implement Cognos Transformer for cube design and server builds.
o Coordinate the integration and change-control techniques for Test, UAT and Production environments.
o Work jointly with the data management team to understand data domains, values, cardinalities and other dimensions of dta needed to support BI solutions.
o Assist data architect in Business Transformation activities especially when the data to support these activities must be staged in several iterations.
o Review and ensure the quality of the artifacts produced by the BI team members.
o Coordinate metadata management activities with data management team.
o Develop and maintain application standards & compliance procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
Skills:o 7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence reporting in a Data Warehousing environment.
o 4+ years experience in OLAP server technology
o 4+ years of total Cognos Series 7 experience (PowerPlay, Transformer, ReportNet, Catalog Management).
o 4+ years experience in cube development and deployment in UNIX environment (PowerPlay and Transformer).
o 2+ year Access Manager experience.
o Oracle DBA skills in UNIX environment with DWH experience
o 3+ years SQL experience, preferably with ORACLE.
o Strong understanding of metadata.
o Excellent written and oral communications skills.
o In-depth knowledge in multi-dimensional model design (MOLAP & ROLAP).
o Financial industry experience (Profitability & Pricing Models).
o Excellent analytical abilities used to craft unique BI solutions to support business processes.
o Served as a BI designer/developer on multiple successful Enterprise BI efforts.
o Experience deploying a Web based report distribution solution.
o Expert in standard Data Warehouse toolsets (e.g. Oracle, SAS, Business Objects, Cognos, etc.)
o Able to effectively communicate to business users and managers.
o Sound knowledge of data warehousing methodologies and technologies with proven expertise in Business Intelligence and MIS Reporting tools, RDBMS and CRM products.
o Leadership/mentoring experience preferred
o Bachelor's degree in computer science or business administration.
