Associate – Private Funds

Position: Associate – Private Funds
Reporting To: Senior Vice President – Private Funds
Location: New York

Responsibilities: The Associate will be part of a small, rapidly-growing team within Brookfield dedicated to developing and launching new investment funds for the Company. These funds will target investments in real estate, power, timber and infrastructure across a broad range of geographies and risk/return characteristics.

The position will be responsible for:
assisting in product development
researching fund terms
performing financial analysis
assisting with initial fund underwriting and preparation of due diligence information

Coordination and execution of the development of fund documents including presentation books, offering memoranda and partnership agreements will also be an important role for the Associate. During the marketing phase of new funds, the Associate will be responsible for investor tracking and responding to investor requests.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
2 – 3 years experience in investment banking or investment management of alternative investments
Understanding of real estate market fundamentals (supply, demand, vacancy, absorption etc.) and processes (leasing, asset management and sales)
Understanding of private equity funds including general terms and structures
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Careful attention to detail assuring accurate and timely delivery of materials to potential investors
Comfort working in an unstructured environment where team members share multiple roles and responsibilities
