Associate Finance Manager

Lucas Group, the respected leader in professional recruiting, is seeking individuals for a Associate Finance Manager role with a well known Chicago client.TITLE - Associate Finance ManagerSUMMARY -Manage the overall financial activities for the Business Unit, including the accounting, control and reporting of key financial, operational and marketing information. Provide value added business analysis in these areas, while generating cost savings ideas resulting in improved profitability of the business. Assist Business Unit financial management with special projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES -
- Coordinate the preparation and communication of monthly financial forecasts. Provide brand profitability statements comparing actual results to the latest forecast and last year. Provide a risk assessment of financial issues that impact profitability and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage the development and evaluation of annual budgets at the brand level. Develop and drive an effective and efficient planning process to guide the business unit in the formulation, review and communication of operating plans and projections. Analyze and evaluate business strategies, tactics and new business proposals to ensure they are consistent with the BU’s overall objectives and priorities.
- Ensure the appropriate recognition of APR expense as well as reviewing adequacy of funding for the accrued promotion general ledger balances. Also, make recommendations of adjustments to accrual balances as required. Establish a formal APR budgeting and ongoing review process. Ensure compliance with Company's accounting policies and procedures.- Provide ongoing financial analysis support to the brand groups, including review of product costs, pricing, margins and profitability. Develop models to project the financial results of business proposals. Ensure that the financial resources are sufficient to meet the business unit need for timely and accurate information management.
- Function as the financial representative with other Finance departments including:
Corporate, Operational Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Sales Controller.- Assist financial management with special projects and financial reviews.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS -
- 5+ years accounting or finance experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- Strong written and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and an understanding of major business transaction systems.
