FitchRatings is seeking to add highly-motivated and experienced commercial real estate finance professionals in its New York City and Chicago offices to analyze new CMBS transactions. Successful candidates will lead the ratings process of commercial mortgage-backed securities, communicate credit opinions to the public and publish research on transactions and industry issues. Qualifications: Successful candidates will identify and assess credit strengths and risks of commercial real estate properties, markets and loans through site inspections, borrower meetings, market analysis and property underwriting and valuation. Successful candidates will also analyze credit characteristics of loan and bond structures, communicate rating conclusions to credit committee, investors and issuers, and participate in research projects of the CMBS group. Ideal candidates will have a BS/BA degree, a minimum of 3 years direct experience for Associate Director level and 5 years direct experience for Director level, underwriting or valuing commercial real estate projects, familiarity with all major property types, proficiency in Excel and Word and an understanding of the capital markets. Strong communication, analytical, organizational and time-management skills are a must; securitization and employee supervision experience, as well as an advanced degree is a plus.
