Associate Buyer

Our portfolio includes Sylvan learning Center, North America’s largest and most trusted network of tutoring centers, providing supplemental remedial and enrichment instruction; Hooked on Phonics , delivering highly regarded early reading, math and study skills programs; and Catapult Learning, a leading provider of educational services to public and non-public schools.Our Corporate division is currently seeking a customer-oriented Associate Buyer to join our team.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provide outstanding service in negotiating and purchasing of goods and services for our customers.
Create and manage purchase orders (PO’s) within the Ariba procurement system.
Perform vendor analysis and compliance reviews.
Coordinate with the accounting groups as needed for confirmation of receipt and accounting for purchases.
Assist in redefinition and development of our purchasing process.
REQUIREMENTS
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum 2 – 3 years experience as a Buyer or Assistant Buyer.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment to produce results.
Strong organizational ability and skill in prioritizing multiple responsibilities.
Experience in Peoplesoft and the Ariba purchasing systems preferred.
