Advanced Software Developer & Designer - Florida West Coast (South of Tampa, FL)-Direct hire onto company payroll, full time, permanent position. Highly sophisticated developer/designer to maintain and continue development/upgrade of primary proprietary research tools that include legacy C++, Swing GUI, proprietary languages. REQUIREMENTS
Advanced Java - total competence with the core language and major APIs. These subjects include but are not limited to Generics, Swing, Reflection, Weak references, custom class loaders, JNLP, RMI, Collections, JDBC, and Concurrency.
Advanced C++ - total language competence and strong STL and custom template skills. Complete awareness of standard libraries.
• A demonstrable beginning competency in a functional language such as any Lisp, ML or Haskell
• Comfortable in varied technical capacities from high-level design to low-level bit shifting, with a penchant for productivity
• 2 years of appropriate postgraduate experience or PhD in related field
• Excellent written English skills
• Comfort in Windows and Unix
• Minimum 3 year commitment
• Java Programmer Certification prior to hirePreferred Qualifications:
• Graduate Degree
• Advanced Java Certification
• Strong knowledge of GOF Design Patterns
• PostScript
• Experience with compiler tools
• User Interface Design experience
• Native GUI programming on one or more of Win32, .Net, Macintosh OSX
• Strong functional programming skills
• UML
• SWT GUIs
• Hibernate or similar persistence layer
