Trenton Operations Manager

SummaryThe position is a leadership role in Trenton Operations with responsibility for overall performance in Safety, Quality, Customer Service, & Cost Improvement within the production arena. This leader will be a member of the company contract negotiations team. This leader will also help with the integration of new lean tools into the DFT/Six Sigma operating system and toolbox locally. Responsibilities:Mfg. Operations: Set vision and objectives for the manufacturing team that support broader Trenton and RS objectives. Monitor progress, correct course where required and ensure high level of execution around the objectives on a short and long term basis.
Six Sigma Lean: Co-owner of the planning and implementation of a continuous improvement culture utilizing sigma lean tools. Create a pipeline of projects and events to drive improvement.High Performance Work Teams: Develop and engage the workforce to create a team-based workforce that is accountable for daily metrics in safety, quality, customer service, cost improvement.Annual Operating Plan; Participate in the development and delivery of the annual Trenton operating plan to support the RS business strategy.Organization Development: Assess and develop existing team to effectively execute plan and build bench strength for the broader organization. Coach and mentor process and team leaders.Communications: Plan and implement effective communication plans and initiatives with employees in area of responsibility.
Labor Relations: Partner with Human Resources team to strategize labor agreement improvements and ensure consistent application of the labor agreement and work rules in the operation while driving improved relations with union leadership team and employees.
Education/Experience:Four year college degree required, engineering degree preferred; MBA a plus.Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience leading one or more major process development projects from concept to production using six sigma methodologies. If not certified must achieve within one year.
Expertise in team leadership.Minimum seven (7) years experience in manufacturing operations required.
