Telecommunication/Plant Operations Specialist

Ensure the highest quality of Information Systems by providing support for maintenance of the PCs/telecommunications and to end users.
REQUIREMENTS
•Follow through on all requests for repair and/or software problems from end users
•Investigate and resolve issues related to PCs, telecommunications and/or printers
•Maintain knowledge of Corporate policies and procedures
•Demonstrate the ability to remain current with a rapidly advancing industry involving highly technical equipment and issues
•May require a strong working knowledge of PBS systems, telecommunications, and managerial concepts in PBX environment.
•Manage LAN, WAN, PC, and voice technologies
•Continuously make recommendations for process improvements
•Trend issues to identify prevention opportunities
•Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”
•Other duties as assigned

Addendum to Duties:
•Assists in the upkeep of documentation including cable records, maintenance records, blueprints, and employee directory information.
•Preventive maintenance and minor repairs of building electrical systems including lamp and ballast replacement.
•Assists with maintenance and inspection of building electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems. Monitors and checks life safety systems, including, but not limited to, fire alarm system, AED, security system, sprinkler system, fire extinguishers, kitchen equipment and computer room UPS systems
•Periodic cleaning of equipment and equipment rooms.
•Replaces ceiling tile as needed.
•Assists other department personnel in performing repairs and preventive maintenance procedures.
•All other duties as assigned.

Addendum to Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Experience with digital telephone systems, preferably Nortel Meridian (Succession), and adjunct systems CallPilot and Symposium.
•Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical systems maintenance and safety procedures.

Addendum to Physical Demands/Working Conditions
•Work will occasionally involve climbing ladders or using lift equipment.
•Must be able to see and differentiate colors on electrical and telecommunication wires.
•May require after-hours (on call) availability as well as occasional weekend work.
