Strategic Planning Specialist

Detailed Description of Work:
• Perform critical analysis to support strategic planning activities and company objectives
• Remain current on a breadth of issues relating to strategic planning such as Congressional authorization and appropriation actions, changing Navy procurement schedules and the competitive environment
• Contribute to formal updates to the strategic plan, including the review and update of company objectives
• Work with BIW business development, communications, program management, functional organizations and project teams to communicate and execute the strategic plan in support of company objectives
• Support the Manager of Strategic Planning in developing and coordinating presentations by the president and other members of senior management
• Support the translation of strategic themes and analyses, company objectives and communication strategies into communications throughout the company
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications for Position:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Technical/Engineering discipline or comparable field required
• Minimum 5 years of BIW or relevant defense industry experience required
• Demonstrated critical and strategic thinking skills and an understanding of financial and business case analysis based on educational background or job-related experience
• Strong critical analysis skills and business acumen
• Strong research skills
• Demonstrated high-level communication skills, including speaking, writing (reports and white papers) and presentation preparation
• Good project management skills including prioritization of multiple tasks and deliverables
• Ability to work independently and within a dynamic team environment
• Advanced Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills
• Demonstrated schedule flexibility
