SLAHP Custodian - #117

Full-Time Temporary Position


Pick up all trash as needed
Services lavatories (clean, sweep, mop, clean mirrors, clean/disinfect commodes and urinals, and replenish towels, toilet tissue, seat covers, and soap
Clean hallways, baseboards, windows, and windowsills
Vacuum carpets
Receive and maintain supplies, and ensure maintenance of adequate inventory of janitorial supplies
Assist in moving light furniture and equipment
Maintain smooth flow of activities at the site by monitoring parking lot and front entrance to the site and maintaining order among WIC clients and visitors
Overtime is a condition of employment and may be required based on the needs of the Institute
Must be willing to work flexible hours
Responsible for other tasks as may be required for efficient operation of the department
REQUIREMENTS
Mon-Fri High School graduate, GED, or equivalent. Must have six months custodial experience. Basic knowledge of custodial services and equipment required. Demonstrate interest and ability to work with WIC's target population and ability to be self-motivated and to occasionally work independently without
close supervision. Sensitive to and respect for the cultural diversity and bias of the target population. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to detail. Requires personal vehicle, valid California driver's license and proof of current auto insurance. English speaking ability required.
