RF Engineer II (Electrical Engineer)

Position Summary:
RF Engineer II – Under minimal supervision, is responsible for the analysis, design, development, and test of passive and active linear and nonlinear RF sub-systems, circuits, and components employing lumped and distributed topologies. Should have a strong working understanding of RF engineering concepts including sub-systems analysis, cascaded analysis, RF network synthesis, RF circuit design, RF circuit troubleshooting, and production support. Has a strong understanding of and experience level with standard RF computer-assisted linear and nonlinear simulator software packages, and is familiar with 2.5D and/or 3.0D EM simulators. Solid working experience with commercial RF test equipment and with error correction calibration techniques. Technical resource to junior RF engineers, and generally considered an apprentice expert in RF circuit design.

Essential Job Functions (Listing Most Important First):
1.Assumes responsibility for the analysis, design, development, and test of passive and active linear and nonlinear RF sub-systems, circuits, and components employing lumped and distributed topologies.

2.Responsible for significant portions of RF hardware, assists in creating RF system architecture, participates in hardware specification document development, and interfaces with customer during design reviews.

3.Actively initiates design and development of RF sub-system, circuit, and component hardware, and employs sound practical development concepts to enhance successful transition of designs into production build.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Job Requirements:

Education:BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience:5+ years of related experience (4+ years with Masters degree)
Required Skills:•Substantial knowledge of RF analysis and design concepts; linear, nonlinear, and EM simulation software; and RF test and troubleshooting techniques.
•Ability to initiate and apply RF engineering principles and techniques, and accomplish assigned goals with minimal supervision.
•Maintain high degree of professionalism, enthusiasm, and interest during all phases of RF hardware development from initial concept to production.
•Strong written and verbal presentation skills for customer design reviews.
Preferred Skills:•Significant background in RF sub-system development, M.S.E.E. degree, and experience at frequencies above 10 GHz are a definite plus.
•Significant experience with multiple RF design software tools, design for production concepts, and production support.
•Ability to lead small group of RF engineers to successful completion of design assignments, and to mentor junior RF engineers.
Physical Requirements:•Ability to utilize the common tools and equipment of electrical hardware engineering.
