Plant Equipment Controls Engineer

The duties and responsibilities are:


The Engineer shall be able to assist client with all rotating equipment, maintenance and controls, with primary emphasis on the emphasis on the GE/NP compressor packages. Client shall be involved in the more detailed description of role/ responsibilities/choice of the Engineer.


The Engineer will serve as a contact point for the client for matters respecting the Agreement and shall coordinate the Contractor’s field services, inspections, repairs and parts to meet Contractor’s obligations under the Agreement.


Conduct maintenance planning, pre-Outage, Outage and post-Outage planning activities.


Forward to and discuss with client the Technical Information Letters (TIL’s); plan the agreed upon implementation of any recommendations related to TIL’s.


Respond to technical inquiries utilizing Contractor’s technical support services.


Provide information regarding the latest advancement in Conversion, Modification and Upgrades (CM&U) opportunities to client and assist with implementations of such recommendations.

Diagnose and resolve maintenance or operational problems on the Equipment (both mechanical and controls) with support of client’s operation and maintenance staff, Hands-on experience highly desired.


Perform the on-Site inspection of all Parts (new, used or refurbished) for completeness, correct execution against drawings, damage, etc.


Take primary responsibility for the management of all controls related to equipment eg. compressors, turbines, including the interface between the software and hardware environment.


Work with client’s site teams to develop maintenance schedules associated with the control systems, which optimize Equipment reliability and availability. Job Requirements
The Controls Engineer will have the following:


We require 4-8 years of relevant experience.


A BS EE, BS ME or BS Ch E or related degree program would be desirable, though not required.

Maintain a documented history of all control system changes or modifications for the equipment. Develop maintenance schedules associated with control systems, which optimize equipment reliability and availability.


A hands-on, functional understanding of a chemical / gas process operation as it relates to controls is essential.
