Function: SafetyPay Type: ExemptPosition Number: 90036348 Plant Safety MgrEmployee Type: Full Time Shift 1Job Description: This position is responsible for assisting in the development, maintenance, coordination, and promotion of objectives, policies, procedures, and programs governing all plant safety matters. Specific responsibilities include conducting ergonomic, HAZMAT, fire, and executive safety meetings, training employees, supervisors, and managers on how to respond to evacuations, drills, bomb threats, etc., and attending safety and health related seminars and training sessions to maintain Instructor level on Confined Space Entry, HAZMAT, Incipient Fire Force, and Respirator. Other responsibilities include submitting SARA Title III and various other reports to Local, State, and Federal agencies, inspecting the facility to detect unsafe conditions and practices, evaluating effectiveness of safety and health recommendations and improvements, and studying and analyzing accident and injury data. Other duties include writing and updating all site policies and procedures relevant to safety, documenting ergonomic improvements that have been tried and/or completed, serving on various safety related committees, and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Requires Broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field normally acquired through 4 yrs of college resulting in a Bachelors Degree or experience equivalent.Experience: 2 plus years (Poultry experience preferred)Computer Skills: Requires basic computer skills including generating letters, spreadsheets or graphicsCommunication Skills: Excellent communication skills, organization and planningTravel: 1 - 5 trips a yearSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneSpecial Skills and Other Requirements: Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends
