We are located just a short drive from Omaha or Lincoln Nebraska.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
•Coordinates mining production, storage, and distribution in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the company.
•Coordinate and supervise any alterations in plant design.•Estimates and develops costs for major repairs and renovations to the operation.
•Develops maintenance plan and guidance procedures for maintenance program.
•Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.
•Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
•Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the operation.
•Perform technical research, analysis, and solving difficult engineering programs.
• Supervisory responsibilities for the two plant Superintendents.
Summary:This is a hands on management position. The manager will direct production, distribution, and operations for the limestone mining plant and be able to meet the demands of a 24-hour day, 7 days a week operation and continually balance the competing needs of maintenance and production by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate superintendents. In addition, relocation expenses to be considered.
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil and Structural Engineering, or equivalent; plus 10 years of experience in a related role with at least 2 years in a management role.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred. An understanding of the Safety & Environmental Rules & Regulations of the mining industry would be a definite plus.
Other Skills and Abilities Previous work experience in structural, mechanical or industrial design is preferred. Must have a good overall technical knowledge of plant operations, engineering, purchasing, safety, training, environmental compliance, equipment and construction projects.Other Qualifications:
Proven track record of increasing responsibility and results in production, maintenance, process and quality. Skill in the use of engineering instruments and tools. Candidate will be on-call 24 hours a day on a rotating schedule.Work EnvironmentThis is a mining operation, while performing the duties of this job. The employee is frequently exposed to moving parts, mining operations and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne paricles and vibration.
