Jet-lube, Inc. has an opening for a “hands on” Plant/Maintenance Engineer located at the batch processing plant in Houston, Texas.

Objective or Purpose of position:
The primarily responsibility will be to provide engineering support for the daily operation and maintenance of production units in the Houston plant as well as other satellite facilities in Canada and the U.K.
Oversee the day to day maintenance of plant equipment,
Schedule repairs as needed,
Participate and oversee the repair of equipment that hinders production capacity in a timely manner.
Improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the plant rotating equipment through the application of engineering expertise in providing low cost solutions to maintenance problems.
Work with maintenance and operation personnel to develop Preventative Maintenance Program in order to reduce cost, improve reliability of operations and preserve assets.

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
Troubleshoot plant maintenance problems
Maintain plant reliability, mechanical integrity
Provide mechanical expertise to entire plant and laboratory.
Schedule repairs by coordinating with production operations, ordering and maintaining inventory of spare parts with little to no supervision.
Identify and resolve process, production, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and technical problems and make recommendations on equipment repairs and/or replacement to management.
Propose and implement improvements to existing maintenance program and procedures, which will include implementing: inspection schedule, predictive/preventive maintenance schedule and corrective maintenance activities for rotating equipment and ancillary components. This will include issuing inspection reports and developing corrective actions to improve reliability and/or performance.

REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering, Science or other technical discipline with 10 years related experience.
Knowledge of mechanical integrity evaluation of stationary equipment (kettles, blenders, storage tanks, piping systems, boilers, relief devices), along with rotating equipment (positive displacement pumps, compressors, gear boxes, mills, and equipment lubrication requirements) is a must.
Demonstrate the ability to independently design mechanical components based on understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, machining operations and assembly fit tolerances.
Be a “hands on” engineer while supervising maintenance mechanics and operations with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawing.
