Operations Manager - Duluth, MN

Block by Block, a leading provider of cleaning and hospitality services to downtown environments is currently seeking applicants for an Operations Manager for Duluth Downtown Waterfront District. Applicants must possess initiative, responsibility, strong integrity and leadership skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Operations Manager position is assigned to our premiere customer in the Downtown Duluth area and is responsible for managing personnel providing cleaning and hospitality services. The Operations Manager will spend at least 75% of their time in the field (outdoors) mentoring staff, verifying work completed, and interacting with property owners/managers.

Duties include, but not limited to, overseeing all work performed, working closely with the customer, city departments, and the corporate office implementing new strategies; providing direction and development of personnel; and development and implementation of innovative programs; recruitment, selection, and training of all personnel; deploying resources in accordance with service agreement; managing resources within established budget; developing operational and training manuals; creating good will by interacting with employees, residents, workers, and visitors of Downtown Duluth. Excellent administrative skills coupled with strong computer skills preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS
The position must have at least five years of management experience in similar industry (janitorial, facilities maintenance or customer service); verifiable work experience; possess good understanding of sound human resource applications related to selection, training, coaching, and termination; clear understanding of customer service and the impact on ensuring positive outcomes with staff interacting in the public domain; effective written and verbal communication skills; PC literacy is necessary (MS Office); goal oriented; ability to work independently and be a team player; enjoy working in a high energy, results-oriented environment; pass a thorough background investigation, to include drug screen.
