Manufacturing Manager

REQUIREMENTS
JOB SCOPE/RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and provide direction to all manufacturing and production functions as defined by organization chart. Bear responsibility for establishing and meeting overall delivery commitments to customers. Working with Operations Manager, develop and achieve business plan. Ensure that all relevant QA procedures are adhered to. Utilize production schedules, machine schedules and other data/information to schedule personnel and equipment to efficiently manufacture parts to meet customer requirements. Provide scheduling and coverage as required to meet customer demands. Review sales forecasts from Marketing Department and incorporate those predictions into production plans. Communicate and collaborate with all functional groups as needed to ensure optimal utilization of resources. Monitor production operations and productivity levels and make adjustments as needed to ensure staffing levels are maintained and/or improved. Produce products competitively, improve productivity and be a value leader in the industry. Evaluate performance against goals and initiate improvements where required. Provide direction/leadership to the manufacturing personnel and actively drive continuous improvement initiatives. Responsible for personnel within departments, including staffing, compensation, termination, transfer and promotion. Must drive fair and consistent execution of policies and procedures. Periodically evaluate employee performance according to company standards for productivity, advancement, etc. Prepare capital, expense and operating budgets. Ensure that all relevant QA procedures are adhered to and initiate controls and actions necessary to assure the quality and safety of all Company activities. Take part in corrective action plans and participate in relevant meetings and reviews of the QA system. Bear responsibility for overall product quality. Monitor and enforce all company policies. (Safety, Attendance etc.) Execute other responsibilities and projects, as necessary. Experience/Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field; or its equivalent. 3-5 years experience managing first line Supervisors in a manufacturing environment in metals industry. Good communication skills. Leadership experience. Experience in six sigma and lean manufacturing a plus.
