Manager, Operations

Coordinate Key Plant Activities – Oversee daily operations in the plant to achieve specified target and plant goals. Troubleshoot and provide expertise as needed, when unplanned situations arise. Ensure plans are in place to resolve longer term safety, regulatory, quality, cost or production issues. Communication – Appropriately disseminate information to help plant employees and management staff to make good operating and business decisions. Ensure methods are in place to effectively communicate goals, issues, and improvement opportunities. Communicate/coordinate with site level leadership team. Develop and Coach Employees – Assist direct reports with appropriate coaching in order to build their skills and decision making process. Complete effective performance appraisals for direct reports and give proper feedback. Review operations and logistics non-exempt performance appraisals to ensure effectiveness of performance. Present classroom training to groups and recommend outside training as needed. Develop/implement systems to enhance operational effectiveness. Develop and implement systems at the cell level and at the operations level to monitor and improve productivity. Establish and maintain a visual manufacturing environment.Job Requirements
Demonstrated ability to challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks or work activities. Able to identify and implement creative, innovative solutions. Strong planning, organizing, and time management skills. Proficiency in setting priorities and executing multiple assignments in a timely and efficient manner. Demonstrated ability to lead change and coach a large group of diverse employees to improve individual performance and overall plant performance. Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in working with spreadsheets, word processing, and other work related databases. Demonstrated ability to implement lean and six sigma concepts in a line flow production environment. Experience in conducting internal investigations and demonstrated ability to reach conclusions and determine necessary actions. 8-10 years related experience
