Gannett Co., Inc seeks an experienced, top notch Manager/Building Operations for our award winning HQ building (1.6 million sq.ft.) in McLean VA. Duties include:
Reports to the Director, Facility Services. Provides leadership in the operational performance of Corporate Headquarters and the Maryland Operations Center (MOC). Responsible for all facets of facility maintenance/operations at Gannett HQ, MOC and Gannett’s Washington DC news bureau. Develops operating standards for all mechanical/electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, life safety elevators, buildings and grounds maintenance. Directs, through a Facility Specialist, moves, relocations and renovations. Manages direct reports who are responsible for running the engineering, building and grounds maintenance, life safety systems, furniture repair/modification and help desk functions. Responsible for continuous facility support through development of maintenance planning, emergency response and business continuity plans to meet operational, security and life safety requirements. Responsible for life cycle planning, preventive and predictive maintenance, environmental compliance, operation/capital budgets, purchasing of materials/supplies, performance measurements, performance management, benchmarking and customer service assessments. Consults regularly with departments regarding their needs and requirements for support for specialized equipment, space allocation/planning, design/interior renovations, mission critical/data center functionality and security system support. Manages and coordinates all facility related construction/renovation projects associated with Corporate and the MOC.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 10 years operational facility management experience, which includes building maintenance and operation of central plant facilities, extensive customer contact in a 24 hour mission critical environment. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal communications. Verifiable experience in construction, operation, maintenance, management of outside service providers and departmental budgeting. Previous experience managing/working with Computer Aided Facility Management Systems and CMMS Systems. Experience managing a staff and extensive engineering skills are required. Must possess strong planning, organizational and supervisory skills necessary to support critical business functions. Ability to work well under pressure and available to respond to facility related emergencies.
