Maintenance Helper

Assist in all phases of maintenance duties. Will have a hands on exposure to painting, carpentry, window repair/ installation. May assist in carpentry work in the shop and in the field. May be required to paint offices and resident halls. May be responsible for delivery and pick up of supplies and moving them to and from the job sites as necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Perform preventive maintenance work.- Remove and replace existing doors w/frame.- Remove and replace existing windows.- Layout and frame interior partitions.- Hang and finish drywall.- Be responsible for proper care and upkeep of all University equipment used in the courseof completing assigned tasks, including tools, materials and vehicles. - Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.- Paint classrooms, offices, and resident halls.
Qualifications:
- Have some knowledge of the Florida building code i.e. stud spacing for partition walls, spacing of fasteners on windows and doors.- Must be able to physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.- Must be able to use power tools required of said jobs with all safeguards in place.- The applicant should have a mininum of two years experience in all phases of new construction and remodeling.- High school diploma or GED equivalent is also required.
