Lean Facilitator

Kohler Co., a world-class manufacturer of exceptional kitchen and bath products, engines and power generation systems, distinguished furniture, and renowned for luxurious hospitality businesses, is seeking a highly qualified Lean Facilitator to join our Kohler Operating Systems (KOS) group within the Plumbing Division. This position has high visibility with senior business leaders, and multiple business units at Kohler Company.BASIC FUNCTIONInternal consultant for the implementation of the Kohler Operating System (KOS) including the coordination of kaizen workshops, business process redesign events and all other disciplines within the KOS philosophy.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESAssist business units in achieving their strategic and financial goals through planning and executing projects.Accountable for, driving quantifiable measurements based on strategic objectives. Monitors results to ensure improvements are maintained and benefits are sustainable over the long term.Assists Kohler Co.'s Continuous Improvement Coordinators with their development and on-going implementation of KOS.Align the Corporate KOS with the strategic direction of the company, and gain buy-in from Kohler associates.Provide leadership for teams and monitor tool usage.Since this position interfaces with several other business units within the U.S. and internationally, the Lean Facilitator is required to travel between 25 and 50% of the time.RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTSSupervisory Relationship:Reports to the Director Kohler Operating SystemOrganization Relationships:Aligned with the strategic direction of Kohler Co.Frequent contact with plant leadership to understand strategic and financial goals.Frequent contact with Continuous Improvement Coordinators in planning for and executing projects.External Business Relationships:May work with external suppliers/vendors/contractors and customersEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSBachelors Degree required (Engineer preferred). Green Belt certification required within one year of employment. Minimum 5 years experience (2-3 years with Engineering degree) working directly with tools and methods in a lean manufacturing environment. Broad knowledge and application experience with process improvement, structured problem solving, TQM tools and methods. Strong project management skills necessary.Critical skills required:Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and coach.Demonstrated ability to take creative action in solving problems while exhibiting sound judgment and a strategic, systematic approach to decision-making.
