I&C Technician - Anthem

Under general direction, performs a variety of duties involved in the installation, maintenance, repair, and operation of medium voltage electrical switch gear, backup generator transfer switches and electronic equipment and radio and telemetry systems; to instruct other employees in the operation and use of electrical/mechanical controls on new or modified equipment; and performs other job related duties as required.



This is a full journeyman level class in the Electrician/Instrumentation field requiring a full range of electrical and electronic repair, maintenance, and operation of highly automated state of the art water treatment plant. Incumbents are expected to perform the full range of electrical and electronic repair and maintenance work including installation, diagnosis, repair, and overhaul duties on electrical, electronic, and telemetry equipment, devices, and systems. This level of position is expected to perform a full range of duties as assigned, working independently, applying well developed skills, exercising judgment and initiative.
REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years journey level related work experience as an electrician and/or instrumentation technician.

Any combination of training, education or experience equivalent to a Certification in Electrical Trades from an accredited vocational, technical, or trade school or an Associates Degree in electrical or electronics field. A valid Arizona Driver’s license is required.



Knowledge of:
- All aspects of low, medium and high voltage electrical maintenance.
Technical knowledge to include the National Electric Code.

- Methods, materials, tools, and testing equipment used in the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of electrical and electronic systems used in pumping and treatment facilities;


Ability to:

• Inspect, detect, and take appropriate action to correct electrical and electronic equipment failures and faults;
• Perform a variety specialized work assignments requiring knowledge of electrical and electronic systems specific to wastewater collection system, pump and treatment facilities;
• Perform PLC and SCADA maintenance and VFD troubleshooting and repair.
• Perform maintenance on low and medium voltage panels.
• Install new controls and conduit in accordance with NEC code guidelines.
• Provide basic instruction and training to other staff;
• Perform the full range of electrical and electronic repair and maintenance;
• Maintain equipment records and parts inventories.
