General Manager - Corporate Fitness Facilities

General Managers – TWO - one in Los Angeles and one in Thousand Oaks

Established in 1986, Plus One is the leader in designing, equipping, programming and managing of corporate and hotel fitness centers. Our state-of-the-art facilities provide its members with a complete range of health and fitness programs and services including individual fitness assessments and exercise prescriptions, wellness seminars, personal training, massage and physical therapy.

We are currently seeking TWO General Managers to work in two premier, high-end facilities in California. One General Manager will be responsible for a corporate fitness center in Los Angeles and the other General Manager will be responsible for a corporate fitness center in Thousand Oaks.

A General Manager at Plus One manages and directs all operations, staffing, and marketing aspects of the Fitness Center. He/she acts as a direct liaison between Plus One and the Client’s supervising department. [Assume the key responsibility/assist the Client Coordinator] in the marketing, promotion, planning, and staffing all programs. Although the General Manager will spend less time on the gym floor than the rest of the professional staff, he or she will maintain a high profile with both staff and members.

A bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field with a minimum of five years experience in the fitness field and at least three in management. Current CPR and First Aid certifications plus one or more certifications from the following organizations are required, ACSM, ACE or NSCA. A thorough knowledge of health, fitness, exercise principles, exercise testing and evaluation, and fitness programming. A thorough knowledge of staff management, budgeting, sales and customer service.
