GENERAL PURPOSEThis position is responsible for supervising the depot material handlers and coordinates the product receiving and material handling activities necessary to fulfill the sales activities at assigned depot(s).</table>
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESExecutes the company's Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) and follows any government regulations concerning EPA, OSHA, all food safety regulations, and other safety-related regulations, as specified in the company's manual. Responsible for daily management and operation of the warehouse facility within Schwan's GWP Guidelines. This includes proper product handling (depot sales under $3,000,000 annually) and safety, warehouse maintenance and employee safety.Interviews, hires, trains, supervises and manages the performance of the material handlers that carry out warehouse operation duties. Schedules material handlers hours based on the volume of activity to meet company standards and insure customer fulfillment.Manages designated fleet management responsibilities which includes maintaining Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance files, communicating with truck maintenance provider, vehicle registration and license, and periodic fleet safety inspections.Collaborates with General Manager(s) - Location, to coordinate the proper inventory levels. Coordinates the receiving of product with Demand Replenishment Planning (DRP) and Dispatch. Ensures product safety while product is stored and in material handling activities. Responsible for inventory control.Maintains facility and records to insure compliance with company standards and all federal, state and local regulatory agencies including employment related postings.</table>
QUALIFICATIONSEducation: High School or equivalentYears of Related Experience: 3-5 years related experience.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Good PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and written. The ability to effectively present information in group settings to a wide variety of audiences. Excellent Driving Record. Effective Budget Management.Must meet the Federal Department of Transportation eligibility requirements, including appropriate driver's license and corresponding medical certification as a condition of employment for this position.</table>EOE
