Facilities and Purchasing Manager

The Chronicle of Higher Education seeks a highly qualified Facilities and Purchasing Manager to join the Office Management team.

In coordination with the Director of Administration this person will be responsible for managing day-to-day office operations, maintenance, and purchasing for a 50,000 SF office with 200 employees. The Facilities and Purchasing Manager will also be responsible for maintenance and services for a 3000 SF NY office with seven employees.
Responsibilities include overseeing repair and maintenance, telephone system and related services, equipment, shipping and receiving, reception, and office service operations including help desk, purchasing of supplies and services, security, catering, and travel agency services. Along with a collegial and collaborative work environment, we offer competitive salaries and an outstanding benefits package, including five weeks vacation per year, a generous retirement plan, and fully-paid medical premiums.

REQUIREMENTS


The ideal candidate will have: expertise in purchasing, vendor relations, and facilities management.
Office design and construction experience . strong attention to detail with the ability to anticipate, prioritize, and manage daily tasks and projects.
Requirements include:5-7 years experience in office services or facilities management, including previous supervisory experience. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
