Facilities Manager, Facilities (1236)
Exponent (www.exponent.com) is a leading engineering and scientific consulting Firm dedicated to helping our clients solve their technical problems.The individual in this position will work with the Director of Facilities on new commercial leases for regional offices, including space design, planning, and tenant improvement construction management. Responsibilities for this position will include: maintaining ongoing professional relationships with landlords, property managers, brokers, city officials, attorneys, architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors; reading and interpreting construction blueprints and in-house technical drawings with information regarding occupancy, furnishings, building systems, and environmental health and safety requirements; developing preventive maintenance programs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, HVAC, telephone PBX systems, furniture, locksmithing, site and building security, and building life safety and fire protection systems; and working with Safety Department to maintain company-wide programs in environmental health and safety management to ensure employee safety and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The person in this role will maintain multi-facility historical service records and construction prints/records, monitor and track vendor contracts, and prepare other facilities service and maintenance management documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the facilities/property management field plus a minimum of five years industry experience in construction/facility management or related field. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong computer skills with desktop applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be detail oriented, have strong written, organizational, and verbal skills with the ability to excel under pressure and demonstrate strength, flexibility, and promptness in dealing with changes, and unanticipated challenges in a corporate environment. AutoCAD proficiency and prior procurement and contract administration experience a plus. Must be able to prioritize workload and work independently. Travel will be required.
