Engineer I

Westlake Chemical Corporation is a manufacturer of Petrochemicals and Plastics, with locations throughout the US and Canada. We have an opportunity for an Engineer I in our North American Pipe division, located at Corporate Headquarters in Houston, TX.
REQUIREMENTS
Designs, implements and monitors all activities towards meeting product specifications.

Manages and maintains the relevant engineering areas within SAP.

Prepares engineering documentation and AutoCAD drawings for products, processes, equipment and plants.

Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project staff according to project requirements.

Manages projects and project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.

Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Directs integration of technical activities and products.

Prepares, evaluates and coordinates tooling and design changes, specifications, and drawing creation, maintenance and releases.

Accountable for controlling expenditures within limits of project budget.

Prepares AFE proposals, monthly updates and completed project reports.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in engineering field from four-year college or university; and minimum 5 years’ experience as an Engineer in the pipe industry with proficiency in AutoCAD and manufacturing documentation and control.
