As the PSAV on-site Electrician, you will be handling most of, if not all, electrical requirements, for PSAV, the assigned hotel location and outside production companies. You will also be assisting with any and all additional Audio-Visual requirements throughout the hotel as needed. You'll be required to work closely with the PSAV Director, PSAV Sales Staff, Hotel Engineering Staff, and Outside Production Companies. You will need the ability to think on your feet, multi-task, accept change, and act accordingly within PSAV guidelines, at all times.
Key Job Responsibilities
Electrical Knowledge
Working knowledge of 110v-220v, single and three phase equipment, different connectors, power phases, amperages, and voltages. Know the differences and/or European conversion to American power. Knowledge of Power Generators and Transformers, as well as of meters and tools of the trade.Electrical Needs Planning
Ability to read, create and execute Exhibitor order forms, Electrical and Exhibitor Booth diagrams/blueprints and the ability to determine labor and material needs for future shows.Equipment Handling
Ability to create and execute show load-in/ load-out plans for both Trade Shows and Production Companies. Able to set and strike required electrical power for General Sessions, Breakouts Computer Labs, Meal Functions, Entertainment Events, Exhibitors, Decorators and Production Companies. Including building custom cables and assist in the fabrication of electrical components if needed. Finally, the ability to troubleshoot when problems arise.Customer Relations
Strong customer services skills to maintain a positive relationship with all Clients. As well as to effectively communicate with PSAV Team members, including the ability to direct PSAV employees and assist outside electricians when required to do so. Able to cross train PSAV co-workers and if needed to assist with normal day to day audio visual set-ups/strikes.Job Qualifications
