Electrical Systems Engineer
The Electronics Systems Engineer will ensure that Safety comes first in all Facilities efforts. The ESE will have demonstrated the ability to lead and train service technicians, design solutions for difficult problems, manage contractors and be on call for emergencies. Self direction and the ability to handle multiple time-sensitive projects and daily activities in a dynamic environment are crucial. Strong project management skills a plus! Develops plans on how to accomplish departmental and facility goals. The successful candidate will have expert-level knowledge and demonstrated success in at least one of the following: Electrical/NEC, Electronics/Communications, or Motor Controls/PLCs.
Responsibilities will include:Ensures all Safety programs and procedures are followed. Maintain, troubleshoot and train on all conveyor system electronics. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs. Develop and maintain training programs for service technicians and facilities associates. Develop and maintain good working relationships with seniors, peers, and subordinates. Ability to provide enriched feedback to enhance individual performance. Mentor technicians by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals. Ability to install, maintains, and troubleshoots power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials. Ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components. (Photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachs, Opto 22, and encoders. Ability to install, maintains, and troubleshoots RF devices, electronics (resistors capacitors, diodes, rectifiers, and bridges. Networks, fiber to copper, backbones, routers, bridges, industrial security systems, industrial communications. PLC programs, ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot ladder logic (read use for troubleshooting, and creating), components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices), and communications modules (Ethernet). PC Server Controls, ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot operating systems, hardware (boards, components, drives), application software, and data communication devices. Set goals and develop plans on how to accomplish goals. Provide associates with written performance appraisals. Project planning and cost analysis.
Physical Demands:
Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds.
Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).
Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
Operations Support & Customer Service:Promotes and conducts good house keeping practices. Flexibility with work hours and days. (24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation, including holidays). Position requires to be on-call including holidays and weekends. Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer focused manner. Must be highly self motivated and customer-centric.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have:Demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workload. Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the mechanical or electrical field or 5 years experience in the Electrical/Electronics field with equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field. Proven ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management, contractors and vendors. Experience with proficiency in the following areas.
Ö Automated conveyors systems and controls.
Ö Electrical and electronic principals including subassemblies and component level troubleshooting.
Ö Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
Ö Preventive maintenance procedures
Ö Industrial electrical
Ö Industrial controls (photoeyes, proximity switches, motor starters, overloads, relays, limit switches, timers, solenoids, servos, inverters, frequency drives, tachometers, encoders, relay logic, etc.)
Ö Industrial electronics
Ö Industrial PC literacy
Ö Some knowledge of N.E.C.
Ö PLCs / Controllers (Allen Bradley, OPTO 22, Mitsubishi, Hitachi. Ability to troubleshoot ladder logic (programming experience a must!)
