Ensures that the data center environmental equipment is functioning properly, maintained and closely monitored. Manages staff that supports equipment installation, infrastructure cabling, activities for all of Corporate Technology and Legg Mason's affiliate companies. Supports department relocation activities as it pertains to cabling installations/removals/reorganizations. Works directly with mechanical, electrical, and cabling contactors to schedule moves/add/changes as well as coordinating preventative maintenance schedules and trouble shooting of environmental equipment issues. This position receives direction from the AVP of Data Facilities Management.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage day-to-day facility operation of both Light Street and Red Run Data Centers.
Manage equipment and cable installations at both Light Street and Red Run locations.
Supports disaster recovery cabling needs for Light Street and Red Run. Manage staff (4 '6) ' assigns tasks, defines work schedules for Data Facilities Management.
Attends meetings that involve Data Facilities Management.
Manages changes that involve Data Facilities Management and assigns resources to support changes 7 x 24 x 365.
Ensures clarify tickets are resolved by Data Facilities Management in a timely manner.
Works closely with outside vendors that support Data Center and Cabling installations, maintenance activities and resolution of any equipment failures.EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associates Degree.
3-5 Years experience.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent organizational, customer and communications skills.
Working knowledge of data center facility equipment (power/cooling). Experience with Data Center layout, design, and engineering.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Data Center operations, cabling (voice/data) ' (copper/fiber).
Environmental data center equipment (UPS, Generator, PDU, and fire protection. Management of staff.
