Cook - Inpatient Adolescent Residential Facility

Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for the coordination and oversight of all kitchen duties, including controlling the overall food costs of the Gateway Center. The position reports to the Program Coordinator.

Job Responsibilities:
Prepares a weekly menu for all three daily meals and includes provisions for weekends.
Prepares lunch and dinner daily for clients and staff; serves food, stores leftovers.
Ensures that there is adequate food for third shift to prepare breakfast.
Coordinates grocery/food orders with current grocery vendor.
Ensures compliance with USDA reporting requirements.
Ensures that food costs are maintained within program budget.

Education/Knowledge:
Possess a high school diploma or GED. Understanding of youths’ needs and one year of cooking experience preferred.

Experience:
Cooking experience, working with children/youth/families.

Skills:
Able to establish professional client boundaries, effectively sets limits with clients, fulfills the job responsibilities and organizes all kitchen responsibilities.

Performance Standards - Quantity and Quality:
Oversees all kitchen responsibilities, including menus, purchasing, cooking, serving, cleaning.
Assists Program Coordinator in maintaining food costs within program budget.
Maintains confidentiality of clients.
Dependability on maintaining the program and work schedule.
