Compressor Laboratory Technician
Position Description:The Compressor Laboratory technician is a member of a team that is responsible for the performance, noise, application, and reliability testing of small hermetic HVAC compressor redesigns. The technician is responsible for completing a wide variety of standardized and specialized tests requiring the knowledge and application of basic scientific and engineering principles employed in the fields of air conditioning, electricity, precision testing, reliability testing, and analysis of results.Principal responsibilities:Assemble test compressors or related test samples for precision compressor performance, noise, & reliability testingUsing basic metrology equipment and gages, measure parts before and after test.Install micro-instrumentation, such as pressure transducers, strain gages, accelerometers, and related specialized instrumentation, in test compressorsPerform all compressor tests including calorimeter, floor, bench, and a variety of reliability tests providing complete, accurate data, proper pre and post test analysis including documentation of test sample and test setup.Analyze all aspects of the test process providing observations of unusual or different than expected results.Follow safety requirements and proactively contribute to safety improvements and a clean, professional laboratory environment.Working with team, improve test productivity and customer satisfaction.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:Minimum 2 year Associates Degree in HVAC. Equivalent experience will be considered.Experience as laboratory or service technician with specific experience in compressor troubleshooting or compressor testing is desirable.Good communication, organizing, planning, team and problem solving
Ability to handle multiple concurrent projectsTechnical aptitude and ability to use tools, instruments, and computers
