The Direct Support Professional is responsible for supporting and assisting individuals with developmental disabilities who are served by our organization in various aspects of activities of daily living. The DSP is the person who has daily interactive contact with the client, while always ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and agency policies and procedures. The DSP is someone who will personally contribute encouragement, guidance and genuine concern for the client's daily accomplishments, and is to ensure the health, safety and emotional support of the individuals being served. Overall, the DSP actively supports people to choose and achieve the highest quality of life.

Currently this post is for multiple opportunities that cover the hours 10pm-8am 3 days a week. Advancement opportunities are available as well as competative pay and benefits.
We reimburse mileage and dental/health/life benefits, plus 403B plan, are available for employees who work 20+ hours per week.We train and certify for medication administration. We conduct on the job trainings and schedule vendors to come in for additional employee training. We also pay referral bonus' for recruiting quality employees.

REQUIREMENTS
All applicants must be 18 years old with a valid Drivers license and ability to drive. Applicants should be able to provide proof of work eligibility for the United states and consent to/pass a criminal record check.Prior comparable work experience of 6 months is preferred and may be obtained in an educational setting, state operated service, day services, nursing homes, etc.Basic knowledge of nutrition, housekeeping, meal preparation, and personal hygiene is important. Excellent reading, writing, and interpersonal skills are essential. Must be a positive team player and maintain a positive attitude.Candidates should have the ability to maintain confidentiality, successfully complete required provided medication certification training within the first six months of employment, and exhibit the ability to problem solve.Must have a philosophy that is committed to the mission, vision, and core values of Good Shepherd Communities.
