SAIC: FROM SCIENCE TO SOLUTIONS The Buyer procures goods and services normally consisting of services to include construction services, maintenance services and a variety of other services in support of the operations of CRE/F. Develops Request for Quotations/Proposals and negotiates pricing, terms, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders and agreements, typically of moderate dollar value, risk and complexity. This individual will work under the direction of more experienced staff on higher risk/value efforts. Assist internal customer with proposal and invoice tracking and other duties as assigned. Updating various excel worksheets for reports. CRE/F may also participate in procurement activities supporting multiple business units. This employee will have limited autonomy for an assigned area or responsibility within a function and have latitude to make moderate adjustments commensurate with area of responsibility. The Buyer will evaluate supplier performance to ensure satisfactory performance and implements appropriate action as required. Independently performs supplier evaluations and selects suppliers with moderate risk and complexity. The Buyer works closely with Corporate Accounts Payable to resolve invoice issues. “SAIC offers a competitive salary and benefits package. REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills: Knowledge of basic business principles such as purchasing, materials logistics, business and contracts law, and finance and accounting, as well as analysis techniques such as cost, price, quote, and spreadsheet analysis. Position requires up to 4+ years of related work experience. Computer-related experience also required. Desired Skills: Advanced proficiency in both SAP and w/Microsoft Office (specifically, Outlook, Word and Excel). Software and hardware procurement experience to include software licenses and maintenance agreements desired. Education: Bachelors degree required, preferably in Business Administration or related field or equivalent related experience (minimum of 8 years working exp in direct relation to job description).
