Job Description:
This job impacts the organization by providing support activities for UPS, UPS Professional Services, Inc and through the design and coding of custom data solutions for Information management current and future clients.
Activities:The Back End Developer must coordinate the activities of the Information Management department area and:Develop innovative solutions to meet the management reporting needs of our clientsTroubleshoot in support of customers needs (face a variety of problems not always clearly defined)Resolve complex problems, which may require the application of comprehensive knowledge of information management techniques, database coding, software systems, and financial analysisBuilding reporting tools and leveraging existing technology to best serve a client's unique requirementsIntegrate Information Management solutions with other Technology Practice Area solutions and productsAssist Solutions providers in creating Project Definition DocumentsUse accepted Project Management techniquesResponsibilities:Performing daily Information Management duties, supporting existing clients, troubleshooting problems, developing new client solutions, and educating UPS Professional Services
Develop custom data solutions as defined in a UPS contract or a UPS Professional Services, Inc. contract. These solutions will be developed under the principals:Based on PDD or equivalent document Follow basic Project Management guidelinesProvide constant communication with Project ManagerCoordinate coding with IM operations to assure smooth transition into production environmentWell documented codeCollaborate with IM team on large projects and system re-designsDirect and assist in-group training/seminarsInstall and support new projects that may involve planning, user training, scheduling, network tie-ins, server configurations, setups, etc..Perform and coordinate software installations and program updates.
