The Doe Fund is a non-profit organization that empowers people to break the cycles of homelessness, welfare dependency and incarceration through innovative work and housing programs. Our mission is to develop and implement cost-efficient, holistic programs that comprehensively meet the needs of a diverse homeless population.

We are presently seeking an Assistant Director of Facilities to join The Doe Fund family.

Job Responsibilities:

•Plans, organizes and control activities of maintenance department under the guidelines of the Director of Facilities to keep staff engaged in maintaining, repairing and renovating facilities.

•Maintains flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of assigned workload and adherence to standards of quality control.

•Reviews and evaluates existing methods, systems, programs, practices and procedures; develops and recommends change to Director of Facilities.

•Assists with preparation and maintains a variety of department records in compliance with Department of Health Standards, local authorities, and other regulatory agencies.

•Maintains adequate inventory of materials, equipment and supplies and initiates requisitions as needed.

•Works with the Director of Facilities in the coordination of construction and renovation programs for the facilities.

•Assists with responsibilities of the department and shares week-end duties when required.

•Maintains working knowledge of all mechanical and electrical and functions.

•Performs a variety of supervisory and managerial functions.

•Assigns and distributes work to staff.

•Establishes and coordinates employee work schedules to assure necessary staff coverage.

•Resolves complaints as required, reports and seeks guidance from Director of Facilities.
REQUIREMENTS
Job Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree or other completion of advanced courses related to management skills and to engineering and the functions of the department.

•Thorough knowledge of engineering, plant operations methods, techniques, maintenance, applicable codes and regulations and use of departmental equipment and supplies, principles of management and supervision and procedures and polices of departments and facility.

•Proficient in Microsoft Office, Work, Excel, and Outlook.

•Ability to multi-tasks and establish priorities.

•Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.

•Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership.

•Ability to use working knowledge of working environment to meet established goals and objectives.
