Description:


The Vice President Sales is responsible for the daily activities in his/her own national sales area including the management, coaching, and training of Directors Sales to ensure the achievement of regional sales goals. The Vice President, Sales develops and implements national sales plans and budgets. In a start-up Strategic Business Unit this position may also be responsible for New Business Development functions.

FUNDAMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Achieve national sales volume goals, average spread and/or fee revenues.

Participate in establishing national sales volume budgets, average spreads and/or fee revenues.
Identify national sub-sectors and new market opportunities and communicate to New Business Development.
Manage national vendor/dealer/manufacturer profitability against DLL guidelines and initiate action plans against variances.
Create and implement national sales/marketing strategies to include pricing, product, promotion and distribution.
Responsibilities may include training of partner sales personnel.
Serve as a resource to NBD in developing programs that match partner needs.

Manage the daily activities of Sales Directors.

Develop team members professionally.
Set sales goals.
Individual and group performance management.
Activity based management.

Identify opportunities for organizational improvement and support organizational knowledge sharing.

Manage the operations of the sales unit.

Communicate effectively to internal partners.
Reporting.
Create and manage the national operating expense budget.
Assist with major collections issues.
Orginations.

Maintain a proactive business relationship with national vendors, manufacturers and/or dealers.


Requirements:


Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in field sales and sales achievement.
2 years of mid-level managerial experience in comparable environment.

Technical/Functional skills and knowledge:

Excellent understanding of leasing, including principles of accounting, sales, operations, legal, tax, etc.
Moderate knowledge of computers and Windows based software.
Extensive knowledge of specific market segment.
