G&K Services, a market leader in branded identity apparel programs and facility services is seeking a Vice President of Procurement to direct and manage the procurement and sourcing functions for G&K Services.Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations and Sourcing, the Vice President of Procurement will manage an annual operating budget of more than $4 million. This position will coordinate, manage and prioritize the day-to-day activities of the Procurement, Corporate Administration, Facilities and Travel teams which includes: the development and implementation of effective cost reduction programs to control costs company-wide; manage company travel policies, procedures for corporate office and direct the corporate administrative function to ensure high level of administrative support to corporate office, including all facilities management.The Vice President of Procurement will manage a staff of approximately sixteen employees including seven exempt, three non-exempt and six outsourced on site employees.The successful candidate will have the following accomplishments/attributes:
Bachelors Degree with business emphasisFive years of procurement experience at a director level or above within an organization with multiple locationsTen or more years of sourcing/buying, inventory, operations and facilities experienceGlobal sourcing experienceRecognized as an authority in leading teams by virtue of training, mentoring and achievementA strong team leader with exceptional interpersonal skills and an infectious enthusiasmThe chosen candidate will have proven experience with:
Successfully transforming organizations through change management, process improvement and policy enhancementsNegotiate all commitments with suppliers in a way to ensure both short and long term service and cost objectives, set by management, are metWork closely with executives and business groups across functional areas in order to build procurement influence and set procurement policies and directionImplement and drive process consistency and cross business collaborate sourcing strategies that result in supplier consolidationAbility to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environmentApparel sourcing experience is extremely desirable, global aaparel sourcing equally desirableRecruit, develop and mentor personnel, creating a high caliber operating culture. Determine all resource planning, training and skills development needs.Ability to choose a course of action from a variety of options and sell the idea to different organizational levelsDemonstrate expertise in developing supplier diversity programsCPM preferredResults orientedWorking Conditions Hazards and Physical Work Demands:
Travel - approximately 30%
