Date: August, 24, 2006Position PurposeThe VP of Information Technology will provide technology vision and leadership for the strategic planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the company's information systems, including telecommunications, network infrastructure, network security, and data center operations. This position will focus on support of the existing technology infrastructure and implementation of new technologies and related initiatives that will position the company for continued growth. The VP of Information Technology will develop and maintain appropriate organizational structure capable of supporting the network infrastructure, security and telecommunications needs of the company through cost effective information technology solutions. They will work with IT Executive management to build and maintain a world class IT organization by continually evaluating existing IT personnel and hiring and retaining quality employees. The VP of Information Technology will be responsible for the monitoring and control of the company’s data center operations. They will provide strategic vision and tactical planning for the continued growth and maintenance of the company’s hardware and software platforms. The VP of Information Technology will develop and maintain IT policies, procedures and standards consistent with a world class financial services organization. They will research and evaluate alternative and emerging technologies that would add value to business processes and goals. They will be required to stay on top of the changing needs of information technology in the Mortgage industry.Essential Position FunctionsPrinciple Accountabilities1. Oversee the management of the Communications Services, Information Security, Systems Operations, and Technical Support Departments.2. Manage the departmental budgets for the Communications Services, Information Security, Systems Operations, and Technical Support Departments.3. Assist in the management of the overall Information Technology budget by providing projected costs of network and telecommunications projects, consulting expenses, and capital expenditures.4. Implement and enforce standards and policies for network infrastructure and management, server and desktop management, telecommunications management, corporate security, and disaster recovery.5. Research and evaluate alternative and emerging technologies that would add value to business processes and goals.6. Ensure proper documentation of Information Technology infrastructure.7. Oversee the implementation of robust, scalable Information Technology solutions to support growth of new business lines and enhance existing capabilities to support all existing and new business lines.8. Manage strategic IT vendor relationships to support network, telecommunications and security functions.9. Work directly with the CIO, CTO and other IT management to define near-term and long-term IT strategy.Supervisory Responsibilities Executive management of Departmental Directors, Managers and Team Leads.
ContactsContacts will be made with all levels of employees within the organization. 10 + years progressive experience including managing a large, dynamic IT department or group
5 + years current IT management experience within the mortgage or financial services industry
5 + years in managing large data center environments supporting mission critical applications
5 + years in design and implementation of effective solutions in Engineering, Data Center Management, Network Architecture, and Telecommunications.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Strong command of project management skills including work plans, resource planning and control, status reporting and communication, and budgeting.
Solid understanding of IT best practices, methodologies, tools etc.
IT strategy and planning experience focused on strategic business goals and objectives.
Experience with systems integration and customization for both in-house and vendor supplied applications.
Significant experience with IT project planning and project management.
In depth knowledge of data processing systems, concepts, and methodologies.
Experience with financial/budgetary management.
Exceptional technical and people skills, and ability to deal with all levels of technical people, business heads, and executive management.
Outstanding presentation and written skills as well as the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of technology professionals in a collaborative environment.Physical and Environmental Elements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
