Vice President of Avionics Engineering

Summary:

Provide senior level management and leadership for the company’s avionic telecommunications network infrastructure and for the development of its technology strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

·Develops strategies and provides advanced expertise in air-to-ground communications infrastructure and the aviation industry.
·Maintain contact and build relationships with senior technology leaders throughout the cellular and aviation industries including both operating companies and technology suppliers.
·Monitors business environment and assesses technology trends and feasibility of new technologies. Develops business case for growth and improvements.
·Develop and recommend an overall technology strategy with the goal of achieving full network and product optimization.
·Leads the investigation, strategic planning and technical development of next generation digital air-to-ground voice and data network.
·Part of the management team responsible for FCC and FAA regulatory strategy and compliance.
·As a senior staff member, functions broadly as part of the team responsible for all strategies and plans, and interacts with the Board of Directors.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:

·Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, engineering or related science. Advanced degree strongly preferred.
·10+ years senior level executive experience in the wireless telecommunications industry or an equivalent combination if industry knowledge and executive experience.
·Expertise in wireless telecommunications network technology, operating systems and engineering applications for the telecommunications in aviation industry.
·Demonstrated ability to build, lead and develop a high-performance team to get results and meet critical business objectives.
·Demonstrated ability to be a contributing member of the executive leadership team to develop, execute and manage short and long term strategic business objectives, business plans and financial plans.
·Demonstrated skills in problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
·Exceptional communication, presentation and people skills.
