Gannett Digital seeks an outstanding Vice President / Marketing to join our dynamic organization and work out of the Gannett / USA TODAY HQ in McLean, VA. Duties include:

Reports to President, Gannett Digital. Responsible for developing and coordinating all marketing strategies and programs for the Web sites of the company’s daily newspapers in the USA, including USATODAY.com, and its television stations. Drive the development and implementation of strategic marketing activities and establish feasible tactical plans. This position’s duties include but are not limited to: branding and promotion strategies, traffic acquisition programs; media management; research and reporting; internal and external communications; and the achievement of sales goals. Will work closely with marketing counterparts in the Newspaper division, Broadcasting division, USA TODAY and the company’s joint venture partnerships including CareerBuilder.com, cars.com, Apartments.com, ShopLocal.com, and others. Work with Digital content and Advertising executives in efforts for product development.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a strong plus; Minimum of 5 years experience in the online industry. Minimum of 5 years marketing management experience. The ideal candidate will have a broad base of online marketing experience with a proven track record of success in large matrix-based organizations. In addition, the successful candidate will possess hands-on recent experience in Internet traffic acquisition programs, including: search engine optimization (SEO); search engine marketing (SEM); e-mail marketing; and affiliate programs. This individual will play a key leadership role within the executive team. Must be a strong leader, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be extremely organized and team-oriented with the ability to multi-task in order to manage multiple commitments throughout the organization and meet tight deadlines.
