Vice President-Director of Advanced Planning
Purpose of Position: This position directs the company in Advance Planning consulting services. The Director assures proper delivery of Advance Planning services and manages the overall performance of the Advance Planning group including development of consulting models, methodology and work products. The Director provides leadership and direction to the consulting staff. This position is also responsible for evaluating project viability through service line analysis in three major areas of expertise: market assessment, operational planning, and financial analysis. These services may be imbedded in the company’s core (design/build) services or delivered on a stand alone basis.
Decision Making Authority: This position oversees the Advance Planning staff and is accountable for the performance and profitability of Advance Planning services.
General Responsibilities & Duties:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Consulting:
?Directs the delivery of the firm’s management consulting services
?Develops new consulting models, methodologies, products and services
?Secures new consulting engagements, either directly to the company’s customers or in collaboration with the Regional Managers and the Directors of Business Development
Marketing:
?Works with Marketing in the packaging and communication of knowledge emanating from the Advance Planning group
?Aggressively seeks opportunities to be published and to speak on the knowledge emanating from the Advance Planning group
?Assists with proposal preparation, providing creative and technical direction to the proposal development team
?Assists with presentation development and delivery, providing creative and technical direction to the presentation team
?Makes presentations on subjects ranging from consulting processes to engagement findings and recommendations
Management:
?Directs senior consultants in the strategy, methodology and documentation for individual engagements
?Directs senior consultants in the calculation and presentation of proposals and contracts for consulting engagements
?Actively engages in projects and directs senior consultants in the preparation of consulting work and profit plans
?Recruits new consultants and provides mentoring and training
?Maintains profit and loss responsibility for the Advance Planning group
?Maintains quality assurance on consulting engagements aligned with the company’s quality program
?Actively engages in projects, particularly in the conceptual stages, as well as in the leadership of the group
?Develops and directs programs to maintain leading edge knowledge within the Advance Planning group
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Training & Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions: Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s (preferred) degree in architecture, planning, real estate, finance or other related field with a minimum of fifteen (15) years relevant work experience, to include five (5) years of leadership experience in strategic consulting services with an emphasis on HEALTHCARE planning; applied leadership experience in the built environment; experience working with the HEALTHCARE profession in both the inpatient and outpatient environment; applied leadership experience as a consultant on strategic planning, marketing and operational planning in the HEALTHCARE market; and client presentations . Qualified candidates will have established client relationships. Publication of articles and a history of public speaking in professional forums for the HEALTHCARE industry is a definite plus.

•Knowledge of key issues and trends facing the healthcare industry, particularly those impacted by facilities and operational planning
•Knowledge of financial analysis and accounting principles at the managerial level
•Understanding of real estate economics and finance at the managerial level
•Strong computer aptitude, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, MapPoint, Access, and PowerPoint

Physical Requirements:
•Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment such as a computer, telephone, photocopy machine, facsimile machine, plotter, and scanner
•Ability to travel by car and airline
Environmental Adaptability:
•Work is performed in an office setting
•Travel can be extensive at times (could be 100 nights a year)
•Activities will be necessary outside normal office hours depending on workload and schedules
