Vice President - Application Development (Sales & Marketing)
The Vice President of Application Development is responsible for all of the software design, development, quality assurance, and maintenance of in-house developed applications systems for the Sales and Marketing organizations. Specifically, the incumbent has responsibility for the strategic planning, organizing, staffing and performance of the Sales Systems and Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Trendwest development and support groups. In addition, oversees the Platforms & Tools activities. Further, spearheads the identification of and action on key drivers behind cost-effective Application Software Engineering, focuses attention on actions that have the most impact on results, and provides the basis for performance accountability for the group.
Plan the strategic framework, including staffing and performance metrics, of Applications Software Engineering group. Identify high-payoff strategic requirements, and communicate to key executives and other business entity leaders.
Identify Applications Software Engineering strategies, organization, culture, and operational practices; and develop breakthrough or mission-critical opportunities for improving operational excellence using existing or emerging technologies.
Actively participate with IT Program Office in developing and updating a one-, three-, and five-year technical strategic plans and in defining a roadmap for execution
Have expert level knowledge of products, technologies, tools, methodologies, and services used within Applications Software Engineering, and keep abreast of trends and future technical innovations that might improve performance. Champion the successful integration of technology into group's operations.

REQUIREMENTS
Computer Science degree preferred but equivalent experience may be substituted. Demonstration of good technical, tactical, and strategic critical thinking. Experience with CRM concepts and systems, and working experience with Epiphany products required. Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior executive management, peers, and outside vendors important.
Engineering or Computer Science degree; MBA and consulting experience, a plus; demonstration of good tactical and strategic critical thinking.
5 years Information Technology experience and 10 years in leadership role of multiple IT departments, with proven successes in planning and directing.
Expert knowledge of existing and emerging information technologies: Hardware/software architectures, implementation of packaged and in-house developed software, data transmission systems, software programming, project management, web-based technologies, and desktop hardware/software.
Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain a close partnership with other IT departments and internal and external clients and service providers.
Outstanding verbal and written communications skills. Required to effectively communicate with executive-level personnel, as well as translate business requirements for IT Program Office and technical personnel.
Ability to promote constructive change of internal and external parties through skilled interviewing, listening, mediation, negotiation, and persuasion.
