The role of the Vice President, Product Management (VP PM) is the planning, development, and coordination of the product management, strategic sourcing and vendor relationship management functions across CIT. This includes the oversight and management of the product and services catalog, the development and refinement of CIT's strategic sourcing strategy, and ongoing benchmarking of CIT's products and services compared to external service providers. This individual will also provide leadership and consulting across the organization, from business / technology decision making down to the project planning, prioritization and execution.The VP PM collaborates with business unit customers, staff, IT executive management and other stakeholders in leading all aspects of product life cycle management including understanding business unit demands, technology trends, and the competitive field of external services providers. Responsible for managing the strategic product roadmap, product development, product launch, product sourcing, and product marketing in order to gain maximum benefit from each CIT product and service. As a result, the successful candidate will have a critical role in driving the satisfaction of CIT customers and increasing financial transparency.For these reasons, strong product knowledge, sourcing, consulting and communication skills are a must, while possessing a commercial perspective and experience as a customer of technology services are a strong plus. This position interfaces extensively with senior management across multiple business units and CIT functions.Position Description
-Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the company's business plans and specific business unit goals, objectives and priorities.
Collaborate with business unit management and senior IT management to define, evolve and implement CIT's products and services.
Design, develop and maintain McKesson's IT Shared Services product and services catalog.
Provide leadership in the design, development and communication of product plans, that result in enterprise-wide synergies and cost reduction opportunities.
Manage CIT external benchmarking and ensure identified opportunities are communicated and adopted across CIT.
Maintain a Strategic Sourcing Strategy that provides a disciplined provisioning and blending of CIT services from an optimal set of internal end external providers, and is consistent with Operations and Services Strategies across CIT.
Create and manage the governance surrounding the sourcing strategy.
Engage, manage and direct enterprise vendor relationships that are critical in the sourcing of CIT's products and services.
Provide consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to Product Managers, Sourcing Analysts, Architects, and Business Analysts.
Provide guidance to junior members of the product management teams as well as customer facing personnel in other areas of CIT.

-10 to 15 years work experience in IT, or related consulting / business management of technology products and services.
Active participation in the design and refinement of multi-sourced technology products and services.

Solid grounding in core enterprise applications, including SAP, Peoplesoft, and Siebel.
General knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems.
Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards.
Proven project planning and management experience.Education
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering, or comparable work experience.Physical Requirements
