VP of Convergence
To lead the Convergence Solutions Practice for a specialist IT service and solution provider.
The Vice President of Convergence Solutions is responsible for the development of company’s convergence based solutions strategy, product definition and the go to market execution. This position reports to the COO, and will play a key role in determining the priorities of the services/solutions approach to insure alignment with strategic initiatives and maintain targeted profitability and revenue targets for the convergence solutions offered. This individual must be able to work with management to develop strategic and tactical plans to drive solutions sales strategy through the organization in a matrix environment.
•Manage and grow Convergence LOB revenue, gross profit and net contribution for key convergence related technologies and services, including network integration, core routing and switching, IP telephony, and other IP collaboration solutions (voice/video/data).
•Provide business and industry thought leadership related to products and services in the convergence market space. Heavy current emphasis on Cisco partnered technology solutions, secondary emphasis on Microsoft solutions.
•Manage the successful execution of the convergence services growth strategy across the Plan, Build, Support, Improve, Innovate lifecycle. Manage the growth of professional and managed services revenue. Significantly improve the attach rate of services to technology, overall services growth to be greater than technology growth.
•Work with global team and other senior management to develop strategic & tactical plans to drive convergence solutions sales strategy through the organization
Responsibilities & Duties:
•Structure & manage a specialized convergence solutions line of business that drives revenue through the direct channel (Existing Sales Force). Six manager/director level direct reports managing the business on a regional level.
•Develop solutions based revenue streams for technology, professional and managed service offerings in new & existing clients.
•Lead the annual business planning process for Convergence solutions, coordinating with global as required.
•Ensure the successful operational delivery of all service engagements, consistent with our commitment to Operational Excellence (efficiency, effectiveness, enhancement).
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Skills & Experience:
This Vice President must have experience managing convergence based solutions with a hardware manufacturer, systems integrator or consulting organization. The ideal candidate will have sales and service delivery experience in their background. In addition, this person must have proven leadership qualities with the ability to listen and communicate effectively across multiple business units. The current operating culture is fast paced, highly collaborative and highly performance driven. Superior time-management skills are essential for this role as well as the ability to balance the management of the overall Convergence Solution strategy and the day-to-day execution.
•15+ years of progressive Convergence related experience in a sales and general management capacity for premier services & solution organizations. ie, IBMGS, Big 5 systems integrators, EDS, outsourcers, major service providers, etc
•Must have relevant experience in convergence related technologies, operations, and general business management
•Must be a high caliber leader of people, capable of collaboration at all levels
•Must exhibit business development/sales experience & success.
•Must exhibit general management leadership capabilities, P&L management responsibilities.
•Must be a convergence domain visionary to a degree in order to help us create market driven solutions.
•Must be solid operationally as well as very well versed in growing services revenues.
•Must be capable of collaborative engagements with field sales, partners, clients & global team.
Location:
Preferred location is the East Coast.
Education:
•Minimum 4 year degree. Management or IT preferred. Advanced degree highly desirable.
•Demonstrated industry leader. i.e. published, speaker at industry events, etc
•Demonstrated industry experience in the applicable technology domains.
Compensation:
The compensation for the Vice President Convergence Solutions will be commensurate with the strategic importance of this role.
