VP, Engineering

The purpose of this position is to oversee, direct and manage daily operations of all facets of video and data services. Will oversee system-wide plant maintenance operations, including by not limited to headends, hubs and optical transport.Ensure all areas under his/her direction are properly staffed, trained and evaluated in accordance with company guidelines and policies. Responsible for the promotion and discipline of employees in the entire Engineering Department. Establish realistic goals for system-wide plant operations to ensure cable plant is properly maintained and that individual customers are serviced properly according to technical and customer service guidelines. Responsible for all FCC technical reports and logs and ensuring compliance of FCC technical standards and Bright House Networks regulations and specifications.
REQUIREMENTS
5-7 years management experience, including supervisory responsibility in a cable system or related industry required. Ability to motivate technical, maintenance, service, construction and support personnel. Must have excellent administrative, organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills. Must possess strong leadership and problem solving skills as well as the ability to manage multiple projects effectively under deadlines. Thorough knowledge of cable industry operations, including Digital Services, Data Services, Video on Demand and other current technologies. Working knowledge in the use of various tools and equipment, familiarity of OSHA, FCC regulations and specifications, National Electric Safety Codes as they apply to cable television, supervision and office procedures, knowledge of cable product, programming choices and prices and radio procedures and city map reading.
