The Puritan Bennett Plainfield facility is a major manufacturer of respiratory products for the health care industry. As a progressive manufacturer, embracing open communication and both Lean and Six Sigma principles in pursuit of continuous improvement, we seek self-starters capable of multitasking and who are comfortable working in a collaborative team environment for the following position:Senior Buyer
Must have sound working knowledge of purchasing principles, including the ability to research, analyze, negotiate, and close various types of purchase orders. Responsible for the ongoing procurement and negotiations of materials, components, equipment, supplies and services that meet the quality, cost, and delivery goals of the company. A history of demonstrated cost savings is a must.Assume full responsibility for supply chain to ensure timely (scheduled) deliveries of goods and services within budget and/or standard costs. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be capable of independently resolving various issues regarding deliveries and quality issues while working closely with management to keep them informed.
BS/BA degree with a minimum of 5 years of procurement and supply chain management experience preferred; CPIM or CPM certification desired. Must be PC literate (MS Office Suite) and have experience with MRP, JIT, Kanban, and consignment agreements.
