Medical Director, Disease Management

Description
•Responsible for the overall quality and medical appropriateness of care provided to Washington Medicaid State Agency members;
•Responsible for services related to the provision of the CCIP Program including CCIP Program Oversight, Coordination of Care, and Treatment Guidelines Oversight;
•Must be available to the State Agency's Director of the Pharmacy Administration Unit
•All services provided by the Medical Director to the Pharmacy Unit will provided in the State Agency's
•Ensures that care provided meets and exceeds the standards for acceptable medical care and works to improve the provision of services throughout Iowa so that best practices are promulgated throughout the system of care;
•Provides leadership, oversight and consultation to clinical staff;
•Updates, disseminates and implements the medical record review process, and establishes clinical policies and procedures;
•Consults network physicians regarding disease management practices, treatment plans, care coordination, and clinical policies and procedures;
•Establishes strong interpersonal relationships with the provider community through consultation, teaching and support;
•Fosters a positive rapport between the management, health coaches and the provider community.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
•Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO);
•Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine;
•Valid, unrestricted license in the state of Iowa.
Experience
•Minimum of 5 years clinical experience (post residency) in the treatment of medical disorders;
•Demonstrated disease management and case management experience;
•Ability to recognize quality of care issues and to fully comprehend utilization and quality management statistical data;
•Knowledge of disciplines related to physical healthcare, including substance abuse, developmental disabilities, early intervention
