Med-Surg Director

The Med-Surg Director will provide exceptional leadership in effectively managing staff and financial resources for the orthopedic/ bariatric unit and general med-surg unit. Achieves superior quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and strong medical staff and community relationships.
REQUIREMENTS
Active Arizona Registered Nurse license or able to obtain.
Responsible for direction of patient care activities in the Nursing Department. Manages staff in the Department, provides management of operational and nursing activities. A Director consults with staff, physicians and the Nurse Executive on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Professional requirements include:
•Maintains professional appearance at all times.
•Works at maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with physicians, vendors, and staff.
•Completes annual requirements.
•Represents the organization in a professional manner in the community.
•Maintains regulatory requirements including all state, federal, and JCAHO regulations.
•Attends committee, PI, and management meetings as appropriate.
•Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire, safety, and infection control.
•Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directives to personnel and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions.
•Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
•Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility as well as the focus statement of the department.
