The Administrative Office of the Courts

The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) supports the Chief Justice in carrying out her administrative duties in the supervision of all courts and court programs in the state. The AOC is similar to a corporate office in which the Supreme Court justices act as the board of directors. Organized into eight divisions and an executive office, the work of the AOC is diverse and includes developing and maintaining intergovernmental relations, developing and implementing statewide administrative policy, directing public information and media relations, submitting state budget requests and managing state appropriated funding, implementing statewide automation programs, delivering technical assistance to courts statewide, supervising dependent children case review and CASA programs, providing training and continuing education for all judicial employees, and administering treatment and probation services for juvenile and adult offenders.

The Administrative Services Division

The Administrative Services Division provides administrative support to the operations of the AOC, the Supreme Court, and limited legal services to the court management statewide. The director oversees Budget and Finance, Human Resources, Facilities, Legal Services, and Security departments; and is heavily involved with AOC policy development, procurement, and risk management.

This position serves as a member of the AOC's top executive management team The ideal candidate demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and public sector operations, including government budgetary procedures, financial requirements, and strategic planning. This positions leads, directs, manages and coordinates diverse division functions and activities
REQUIREMENTS
. Excellent public speaking and report writing skills are also required. The successful candidate possesses a Bachelor’s degree in management, business or public administration or related field, plus at least five years of high level supervisory experience in a federal, state, or local government agency. An advanced degree and knowledge of Arizona government, budgeting and accounting, and Supreme Court and Judicial Branch policies and rules are preferred but not necessary.
